Caleb Avery is the Founder and CEO of Tilled, a fintech company helping software platforms monetize payments through a modern “PayFac as a Service” infrastructure model.
Caleb began his entrepreneurial journey at just 19 years old, going door-to-door selling payment processing solutions to small business owners. What started as a grassroots sales hustle evolved into a career deeply rooted in the payments industry, where he spent years helping software companies understand and unlock the revenue potential hidden within embedded payments.
Before founding Tilled in 2019, Caleb worked extensively as a consultant and angel investor for vertical SaaS platforms, advising companies on how to transition away from providers like Stripe and build more profitable payment operations. After repeatedly seeing the same frustrations around technology limitations, poor support, and inflexible infrastructure, he set out to build a better alternative.
Under Caleb’s leadership, Tilled became one of the pioneers behind the concept of PayFac as a Service, enabling software companies to launch and scale embedded payment programs without the complexity of becoming full payment facilitators themselves.
Based in Colorado, Caleb is also a husband and father of three. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, skiing, biking, and spending time outdoors with his family. His leadership philosophy centers on intentionality, long-term thinking, and building businesses around problems worth solving for the next decade.
